Shorebreak started with Cam's desire for a simple cup of coffee while on deployment in 2016. A classic "veteran owned" story where a man just wanted something that wasn't easily accessible to him.

For over 10 years, Cam was obsessed with coffee overseas. The artisan approach to perfecting the beans flavor before adding flavors to the coffee. In that time Cam discovered coffees in Europe, Africa, Southeast Asia, and South/Central America. While living in South Africa, the art of roasting the coffee beans themselves fell into Cam's lap and from then on he had a burning desire to start crafting coffee himself. After learning how to roast coffee on a popcorn popper like many other roasters do, the plunge to purchase a commercial roaster and begin Shorebreak in 2025 began.

Shorebreak stands for so many things for so many people. It's one of our main inspirations to be able to flex and flow while blending and marketing our coffees. For some, Shorebreak is the casual sound of waves crashing on the beach on a relaxing summer day. For others, Shorebreak is an intense storm surge that surfers and watermen froth over while spectators watch from the safety of the beach. The beauty of it, is everyone has their own interpretation of what Shorebreak is. We take that inspiration into our roasting process and craft unique blends that match our interpretation of Shorebreak.
